From a Montreal workshop to nine showrooms across North America — one founder, one factory, one obsession: cabinetry built to your home, not to a box size.
iKitchen began in Montreal in the mid-1990s, when interior designer Noam Perez kept running into the same wall on project after project: the cabinetry available simply didn't fit the rooms — or the people — he was designing for. Stock boxes came in stock sizes. Homes don't. So he did what designers do when the market says no: he built the answer himself.
That designer's instinct still runs through everything iKitchen makes. Where most manufacturers start from what the factory can produce, we start from how you live — how you cook, dress, work, and gather — and then engineer cabinetry to match. It's why the company's motto has never changed: made to measure — everyone else makes boxes.
Three decades on, the Montreal workshop has become a full factory, and one location has become nine showrooms across the United States and Canada. What hasn't changed is the personality at the center of it. Noam still approaches every project as an interior designer: opinionated about proportion, fanatical about detail, and convinced that the answer to a client's idea should almost always begin with "yes."
Interior designers across North America noticed. They kept bringing us their hardest, most ambitious projects — and kept coming back. That's how iKitchen earned the name it's proudest of: The Designer's Choice in North America.
Mid-1990s
Interior designer Noam Perez starts building made-to-measure cabinetry in Montreal, because nothing on the market fits the homes he designs.
Growth in Canada
Word travels down the 401. A Toronto showroom brings iKitchen craft to Canada's largest market, with everything still built in the Montreal factory.
US Entry
iKitchen crosses the border, opening in South Florida — today four showrooms strong: Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Bonita Springs.
Coast to Coast
Brooklyn brownstones, Texas estates, California hillsides — showrooms open in three of America's biggest design markets.
Beyond the Back Door
The made-to-measure philosophy moves outside: marine-grade aluminum outdoor kitchens and pergolas built for sun, salt, and decades of summers.
Today
An American and Canadian manufacturer serving homeowners, designers, and builders across the continent — every piece still made to measure.
The Designer's Choice in North America — by the numbers.
Every iKitchen piece is manufactured in our own factory in Montreal, Canada — not brokered, not imported from an anonymous supplier. Owning the factory means owning the quality: we select the lumber, mill the doors, spray and cure the finishes, and stand behind all of it with a lifetime warranty.
We build in premium North American hardwoods — oak, walnut, maple, cherry, and ash — finished in stains, paints, and lacquers applied under controlled factory conditions. And we move on European hardware from Blum, Hettich, and Häfele: the soft-close hinges, undermount slides, and lift systems that professional designers specify worldwide, engineered for a lifetime of daily use.
The result is cabinetry you can feel before you can explain: doors that close like a held breath, drawers that glide full and silent, finishes with depth that a photo never quite captures.
