Nothing replaces real lumber under your hand. We mill solid hardwood for doors, face frames, islands, range hoods, and every profile in between — stained, oiled, cerused, or clear-coated to show the grain exactly as nature drew it.
The defining wood of this design decade, available rift sawn (straight, linear grain), quarter sawn (dramatic ray fleck), or plain sawn (classic cathedral figure). Exceptionally stable and takes cerused, fumed, and natural finishes beautifully — our most requested species for modern and transitional kitchens.
Warmer and slightly pinker than its white cousin, with a bold, open grain that reads traditional. A hard-wearing, honest choice for classic kitchens, libraries, and stained work where budget matters.
Chocolate heartwood with violet undertones — the aristocrat of North American hardwoods. We reserve it for statement islands, floating vanities, and interiors of painted cabinetry where opening a door should feel like an event.
Fine, closed grain and a pale, even complexion make maple the classic canvas for painted and light-stained cabinetry. Dense enough to shrug off decades of daily use.
Silky texture and a warm russet tone that deepens gracefully with light and age. The heritage choice for formal kitchens, studies, and traditional built-ins.
Blonde, elastic, and strongly figured — Scandinavian design's favorite hardwood. Takes wire-brushing and pale stains exceptionally well for tactile, matte-modern doors.
The hardest of the common North American species, with dramatic color variation from creamy sap to mocha heart. Ideal for rustic, ranch, and mountain-house cabinetry that has to survive real life.
Smooth, subtle grain and a soft golden glow. A workhorse for painted doors, drawer boxes, and clean Nordic-style interiors at a sensible price.
Soft honey tones with a gentle, even grain that stains uncommonly true — often mistaken for cherry at a fraction of the cost. Knotty alder brings instant character to rustic and Tuscan kitchens.
Tight, uniform, and faintly pink, beech machines to crisp edges and takes finishes evenly. A European classic for painted frames, bench seating, and interior fittings.
Deep reddish-brown with a ribbon-stripe lustre that has furnished estates for three centuries. We use genuine mahogany for libraries, bars, wine rooms, and anywhere gravitas is the brief.
Naturally oiled and famously weatherproof — the wood of yacht decks. We pair teak accents with our marine-grade aluminum outdoor kitchens for warmth that survives sun and salt.
Veneer is how you put a forest's most beautiful trees on every door of a kitchen. Thin leaves of real wood, sliced from a single log and laid over an engineered core, give you perfect grain continuity, dimensional stability that solid lumber can't match on large flat panels, and access to species and figures far too rare to mill solid.
Matching. We lay veneer book-matched (consecutive leaves opened like a book, mirroring the grain down a centerline), slip-matched (leaves slid side by side for a calm, repeating rhythm), or as fully sequenced sets — every panel in the room cut from one flitch, in order, so the grain flows uninterrupted across doors, drawers, and tall panels. Sequencing is the signature of true architectural millwork.
Cuts. How the log meets the knife decides the picture: rotary cut peels a broad, bold, variegated figure; plain (crown) slicing yields the familiar cathedral arch; quarter slicing gives straight, refined stripe; and rift cutting — our most specified for white oak — produces the tightest, most linear grain of all, with almost no fleck.
Exotic & specialty veneers. For clients who want a kitchen no one else can have, we source figured eucalyptus with its shimmering ripple, fumed oak darkened to smoke and bronze in ammonia chambers, swirling walnut burl, dramatic ebony-striped macassar, near-black wenge, boldly banded zebrano, and pale, satin-sheen koto. Each arrives as a numbered flitch; your designer will show you the actual leaves your kitchen will be built from.
Responsible sourcing. FSC-certified veneers are available across nearly the entire program for projects pursuing LEED or simply a clean conscience — ask your designer to specify certified stock at quoting.
Veneer doors are finished in the same catalyzed clear-coat system as our solid wood, in sheens from dead-matte to polished, with optional open-pore finishes that let you feel the grain through the lacquer.
A painted iKitchen door is not brushed on site. It is sprayed in a filtered finishing room, in a catalyzed coating system engineered for cabinetry — and it can be matched to any color from any paint brand on the continent.
Our spray process. Every painted door gets our five-step sand-and-seal system: (1) machine and hand sanding of the raw door, (2) sprayed primer-surfacer to fill and level, (3) block sanding of the primer to a glass-flat substrate, (4) sprayed color coats of catalyzed lacquer or 2K polyurethane — coatings that cure by chemical reaction, not evaporation, for a far harder and more moisture-resistant film than wall paint — and (5) a final cure and inspection under raking light. The result is a furniture-grade skin that resists chipping, yellowing, and kitchen humidity.
Sheen levels. Choose your light: matte (5–10° gloss) for the velvet, fingerprint-shy look of modern Europe; satin (20–30°) — our most popular, soft and forgiving; semi-gloss (40–60°) for classic painted furniture depth; and high-gloss (85°+), polished mirror-flat for glamour kitchens and lacquered bars.
Color-matched to any deck. Bring us a fan deck, a chip, a fabric swatch, or a memory — our finish room spectro-matches and sprays it. The laminates of this generation are nothing like the laminate you grew up with. Modern European-style panels carry deep, registered textures, anti-fingerprint chemistry, and woodgrains that fool cabinetmakers — at a price and durability that make them the smart specification for entire categories of projects.
A decorative layer fused directly onto a particleboard or MDF core under heat and pressure, becoming one inseparable panel. TFL is dimensionally true, remarkably scratch- and fade-resistant, and perfectly color-matched across doors, panels, and edge-banding. It is our go-to for closets, modern slab kitchens, commercial work, and any project where consistency and value lead the brief.
Multiple resin-saturated layers pressed at extreme pressure into a dense, armor-like sheet, then bonded to the core. HPL is the heavy-wear specification — thicker surface, higher impact and abrasion resistance — chosen for commercial counters, office cabinetry, laundry rooms, and hard-working family kitchens.
Care & durability. Both surfaces wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap — no polishing, no refinishing, no fading in sunlit rooms. They resist household stains, moisture, and everyday impact better than painted finishes, making them the practical choice for high-traffic and rental-property cabinetry alike.

Our outdoor kitchens are built in marine-grade aluminum with architectural powder-coat — a baked-on polyester finish available in a broad palette from soft whites and warm greiges to charcoal, black, olive, and custom colors — that will not rust, peel, or chalk under sun and salt. For cutting boards, drawer interiors, and coastal utility cabinetry we also work in HDPE, the solid, colored-through polymer that shrugs off water entirely and never needs refinishing.
