Width is the filter that matters. A 36″ opening takes a 36″ appliance and nothing else, so start there and see what every brand offers at that size before you fall for one. Thermador widths are read from the model number, which is reliable for their naming but still an inference — confirm on the specification sheet before anything is cut.
