A fashion retail rollout in blackened steel, oak and neon — shopfronts, display systems, fitting rooms and cash desks, repeatable store to store.
Commercial Cabinetry · Built-Ins & Wall Units · Wall Paneling · Industrial
A retail chain does not want one beautiful store, it wants twenty of them that look like siblings and can be built on a fixed programme. So the work here was really a kit of parts: a display frame, a shelving module, a fitting-room bay and a cash desk that could be recombined to fit whatever floorplate the next lease turned out to be.
The material palette does the branding. Oak against blackened steel, patterned cement tile underfoot, and a neon line — Day Time, After Hours — that changes per store and costs almost nothing to swap.
Fitting rooms are the part shoppers judge a store on and the part most fit-outs get wrong. These are full-height, curtained rather than doored so the bays can be resized, with a bench and a hook set that survive being leaned on all day.
