Almost all the light in this apartment comes from coves cut into the joinery and the ceiling, so the cabinetry is carrying the lighting design as well as the storage. Every cove has to be deep enough to hide the fitting and shallow enough not to eat the room.
The kitchen is black with a walnut ceiling raft over the island, which brings the height down over the seating without a bulkhead.
A floral mural and blush velvet supply the only colour, and the linear fire runs under the media wall as a slot rather than a box.
