The worktop and splashback are a single dark stone with heavy veining, run as one surface from the counter to the underside of the wall units. There is no join and no trim, which is the entire effect.
The cabinetry is a champagne lacquer — warm, low-sheen, and chosen because it does not fight the stone.
The children's rooms are the opposite: blush, white and light, with fitted desks and shelving built to the same standard as the kitchen.
