A loft where blackened steel shelving and live-edge timber are set against original exposed brick.
Built-Ins & Wall Units · Bathroom Vanities · Industrial
The brick was the reason to take the job on. It is uneven, patched and genuinely old, so nothing could be scribed tightly to it — every joinery element stands slightly clear of the wall on a shadow gap and lets the brick be what it is.
The shelving is a steel frame with timber shelves, fixed back through the brick at points we could find solid, which took longer to survey than to install.
A live-edge timber slab does duty as the dining table and again as the bedhead shelf, both from the same board so the grain relates.
