The device that runs through the whole apartment is a lit oak niche — a recess lined in solid oak, set into an otherwise white panelled wall. It appears in the hall, in the living room and again above the console, at three different sizes.
The kitchen is kept plain on purpose: white handleless fronts, a pale stone top, and the oak reserved for the breakfast bar and the open shelf.
In the children's rooms the joinery is doing the heavy lifting — a wardrobe, a shelf run and a desk built as one piece per room, which is the only way to get a working desk into a small bedroom without losing the floor.
